I bought MDF yesterday and assembled it temporarily in the garage for routing. Its 8'x20' and will be closely modeled on Jim's "Flying Cow
Raceway" and using magnabraid. The only big change I'm planning to do is changing the kinked straight that forms the flyover bridge- to a "Grand
Curve" like Larry's old track. I really liked that feature. With Jim's invaluable advice I should be routing soon ,probably this coming weekend. I
understand routing the first complete lane but I still have to figure out the proper way to use a "pin plate" on the router that makes the three
parallel lanes. Which lane gets routed first? Does it matter?
So this is a call to you members that have advice to give- feel free to let me know your thoughts!
Also if the gang approves could I borrow the braid router bit and sundry tools/equipment used at Bruce's? It would help this project go much faster. My target is one of the first races next season and a couple more if there's room on the schedule!! Can't wait to give back a little to you guys.
