John,

I'll take a try on several of your questions, but it would be better for an official member of the Rules Committee--such as it is!--to answer.

Look forward to seeing you at Ron's event.

Rick F.

1) Vintage- I need some tire suggestions for a Fly Ferrari 250 GTO and a Revell Daytona Cobra Coupe. Does anyone know if the Slot.it HRS2 chassis will fit/work under either one of those cars?

The old, "grey-dust" Ortman urethane tires used to rule this class, and they still do very well.  Recently, the Slot-It F22 tires have equaled the Ortmans.  Both the GTO and Daytona coupe are fairly narrow cars, so I'm not confident that the HRS2 chassis would fit.

2) Trans AM- Once again I need tire suggestions for a Scalextric '69 Camaro. When I installed the Slot.it orange end bell motor I glued (CA) the Scaley pinion onto that motors shaft, is that ok?

I've been running KD tires on my Scaley Camaro.  On some tracks, notably Jim's, Sherm's, and Rick G.'s, they do really well.  On others, like Alan's and Larry's, they're downright lame.  I think others are generally using Paul Gage tires (available from Canada through eBay).  Gluing the pinion onto the motor shaft should be fine, regarding the rules, but I'm surprised it was necessary.  Usually a press fit is fine.

3) Classic- I understand the "semi-stock" concept, however, are we allowed to swap one manufacturers chassis to use under another manufacturers car, i.e. NSR chassis under a Fly car? If so are we allowed to trim/modify that chassis for fit purposes?

I think this is okay, but I'll defer to anyone on the Committee.  The changes you describe would probably make the car an "open category" entry--but, frankly, we haven't been differentiating between semi-stock and open versions.

4) Slot.it GroupC- I did not see this addressed in the rules, are we allowed to change the Group C cars to a sidewinder or anglewinder configuration?

These cars have to retain the inline configuration.

In general, are we allowed to trim/modify the chassis for the purpose of fit rather than just body float in any class but Vintage?

Body swaps are allowed in the Trans Am class, as long as you use an original T/A chassis.  I don't think the chassis can be modified to allow the new body to fit.  Again, let's wait for the RC to weigh in.
